I've been hearing that a lot of sweet, organic, peaceable sorts of people believe that Trump and Musk are trying to do good work, but it's the media portrayals that give their efforts a bad name... I heard the same sort of thing from a nice Japanese guy that is probably the Japanese equivalent of The Grateful Dead.. (Now I'm wondering if
The Dead had any sort of decent politics... After seeing this guy a few times I'm hoping that somehow working to create a lot of little "modest utopias" is somehow helpful..)
This leap to belief that a couple spoiled brat billionaires are really working for the benefit of all got me thinking of
Adam Hochschild's book
Bury The Chains :
The slaves seemed to think freedom was imminent: one who was whipped said to her tormentor, "Slapp me again if you please, 'tis your time now, but we shall drink wine before Christmas." A letter from the island reported the rumor among slaves that "the King of England wished Slaves in Jamaica to be on the same footing [as whites] but that their owners were against it."
The myth of a benevolent king betrayed by others recurs throughout history, and it is not surprising that it should repeatedly do so in the Caribbean. ---- Adam Hochschild in Bury The Chains
If the pattern her in Southern Kyushu is repeated in other parts of the world, it's like wage slaves all over have beliefs similar to that of the people that were getting crushed by chattel slavery: the belief that someone with very little concern for them was human beings is actively concerned and working to alleviate their suffering, trying to better their future....
The use of the car, the burning of fossil fuels, the making of war, the arrogance of empire — few institutions or ways of life were more “human,” more essential to our nature, than slavery. In the piece that follows, Adam Hochschild takes us back to the first great human-rights campaign in history — the movement to end slavery in the British Empire.

And the typical conspiracy view of history that rich Jewish bankers have been controlling everything from the Spanish Empire, through the Dutch empire, through the British and then New Amsterdam U.S.A... I'll have to search to see if
Rebecca Solnit's work on Conspiracy Theories and networks has been translated into Japanese..
Let me then mention a coincidence that helped create a network. ( You decide if it’s a conspiracy. )...
