Thoughts about Abbey and Ogata

The Grand Canyon's Edward Abbey makes me think of Ogata Masato. All the greats destory their TVs. Abbey used a shotgun(I think) on his TV. I prefer Ogata's way, using rocks in the garden/yard. Rocks are more sustainable, more up close and personal. I imagine you can fine-tune cathartic destruction with a fistful of rock (sorry RATM, not steel) in a way that is just not possible with gun-full of bullers. And if you have neighbors, rocks are less likely to cause collateral damage. Rocks are just the better option. It's a shame Eduardo Galeano is dead because he could probably get poetic about this and convince you to prefer rocks over guns the way he convinces you to prefer hens over bombers. He probably didn't really need to to all that much research to convince readers that hens are different (and better) than fighter jets. He probably just paid attention to the common sense that we all just know. If I could convince you to pay attention to rocks and guns in the same way, the proper conclusion would just naturally follow. Rocks and chickens: good, guns and bombers: bad.
