#乙女椿 Maiden
#Camelia. The name for this flower always makes me think of MInamta's
#乙女塚 #OtomeTsuka MaidenHill a local memorial for all the living things victimized by the corporate industrial pollution, Chisso's methyl mercury and other heavy metals and awful stuff. Akira Sunada probably named Maid Hill after Tomoko Kamimura. She was made famous, iconic, by Eugene Smith but there are other Treasure Children similar to her... This camelia is a tough little tree, but it's double flowered: and like recent scientists and old WIlliam Morris observed the double-flowered blooms are not as good for bees and other living things...
Maiden Camlia makes me think of Yeats'a Maid Quiet too. On good days you can feel
#The winds that awakened the stars, blowing through your blood" and the "words that called up the lightning hurtling through your heart" like Bob Marley's 'Natural Mystic.'
> Where has Maid Quiet gone to,
Nodding her russet hood?
The winds that awakened the stars
Are blowing through my blood.
O how could I be so calm
When she rose up to depart?
Now words that called up the lightning
Are hurtling through my heart.
