Three books from gutenberg.org
Inspired from seeing the writers or the books mentioned in various writings by I.A. Richards.
- Robert Lynd, Old and New Masters for Yeats
- W.B. Yeats, Ideas of Good and Evil for Shelly
- P.B. Shelley, The Complete Poetical Works for getting to Prometheus Unbound and The Witch of Atlas
I've been enjoying the books. If I can dedicate more quiet time to the reading and graudally discover a comfortable setup for the screens (laptop and some sort of TV?) with Calibre the books and screens might help me become a decent reader of poetry, able to appreciate the sacred "unacknowledged legislation of the world"(I.A. Richards emending P.B. Shelley)… It's funny to think that Yeats was saying that Shelley was creating a new religion way before Kim Stanley Robinson had characters talking about the need for a new religion in
Minstry of the Future. I.A. Richards would say we need better
Troths (pronounce like "betrothed", which has the same sounds as "clothed" I guess): ways of ordering our beliefs, our truths..
