The ability to share pdfs on hubzilla is great for teachers.
Comments in the writings of I.A. Richards, Ivan Illych, Lewis Mumford and Paul Goodman have me thinking about the importance of the written page. Schools (universities) got started with writing (Plato) and books (Middle Ages transition from monasteries). More recently, Edward Tufte's commentary about information density, one-eyespan, and page design inspire me to use the computer (screens) to create pages that are worth printing out and spending time with.
Just now, I was happy to see that it is possible to share pdfs with Hubzilla's files. I will enjoy sharing, and re-using the links to, files this way. Using Universal Passport with it's separate Class Profiles was frustrating.
The English is much to advanced for the level I teach
1 but I'm hoping the links and translations were useful for somebody. I get a lot out of the page when I come across extra copies every few months or so.
