Dichiarano i ribelli:
“Ci dispiace sempre causare inconvenienti alle persone. Vogliamo avvisarvi che ci sarà interruzione del traffico pedonale in questa zona stamattina. Perché è necessario questo disturbo? Siamo nel pieno di una Emergenza Ecologica e Climatica. L’anno scorso le Nazioni Unite hanno avvertito il mondo intero che la sopravvivenza umana dipende da un rapido e drastico cambiamento in ogni aspetto della società. Ciò significa che se noi umani vogliamo sopravvivere abbiamo bisogno di grandi cambiamenti, e in fretta. Ci sono soluzioni economicamente e culturalmente possibili in un breve spazio di tempo ma abbiamo la necessità che il governo intervenga immediatamente e non lo sta facendo. Dobbiamo agire ora. L’azione diretta nonviolenta è l’unico strumento che ci rimane per far cambiare rotta al governo. È davvero la nostra ultima possibilità, è una questione di vita o di morte.”

We are sorry. Sorry to bother you.
We are not happy to cause any inconvenience to others. This is why we are warning you that starting from Friday 21st of February there might be disruption to pedestrian traffic.
Why is this disruption necessary?
We are in the middle of a climate and ecological emergency. The UN have already warned us in 2018 that the survival of human beings depends on “a fast, drastic change in every aspect of society”.
Our city has been a port, a world art and culture center, a commercial power. Now Venice is also a climatic frontier town, threatened by a slow, unstoppable danger. Venice is threatened by the rising of the sea, extremely powerful winds, the unsustainable mass-tourism with its polluting and dangerous cruise ships, the depopulation, the pollution of air and water. Venice is just the beginning. We are in a worldwide crisis which is going to affect every aspects of our life. We are expected to abandon our city and let it be exploited, but we won’t surrender. We won’t let Venice die.
If us humans want to survive we need big changes, fast. There are solutions economically and culturally viable in a short amount of time.
We need the Government to act immediately and make these changes, but it’s not happening. We must act now!
Non-violent direct action is the only morally acceptable tool that we have left. It is our last chance. It is a matter of life and death.

- Andare oltre la Politica (partitica): che il governo costituisca e sia guidato dalle decisioni di un’assemblea di cittadini/e sulle misure da attuare e sulla giustizia climatica ed ecologica.
